DJI Unveils Zenmuse H30 Payloads for M300 and M350 RTK Drones

Tech giant DJI has launched new all-weather, multi-sensor aerial payloads — the Zenmuse H30 and H30T — compatible with the Matrice 300 RTK and Matrice 350 RTK drone platforms. Designed for both day and night operations, these advanced payloads are set to be invaluable tools for public safety responders and energy inspection professionals.

The Zenmuse H30T integrates five key modules: a wide-angle camera, a zoom camera, an infrared thermal camera, a laser range finder, and a NIR auxiliary light. The Zenmuse H30, on the other hand, includes four modules: a wide-angle camera, a zoom camera, a laser range finder, and the NIR auxiliary light.

A standout feature is the high-resolution 40MP zoom camera, offering up to 34× optical zoom and 400× digital zoom, enabling tasks such as reading a license plate from 650 meters away. This capability is crucial for public safety, emergency rescue, and critical infrastructure inspections.

In conditions of smog or high atmospheric humidity, the Electronic Dehazing function enhances the zoom camera’s image clarity. Additionally, the image stabilization algorithm minimizes shaking, ensuring stable and clear imagery for detailed inspections, like power line assessments.

The laser range finder provides precise positioning information for subjects between 3 meters to 3000 meters away, delivering 2.5 times better results than the previous generation.

In low-light conditions, the Zenmuse H30 series cameras seamlessly switch to Night Scene mode. The zoom camera in this mode supports IR Light for infrared enhancement and NIR illumination, greatly aiding night overwatch and search-and-rescue operations. Users can switch between full-color night vision and black-and-white night vision live views, capturing high-quality recordings.

The infrared thermal camera on the H30T offers a resolution of 1280×1024 with up to 32× digital zoom and can measure temperatures up to 1600° C (2912° F). This feature assists firefighters in detecting hotspots and supports search and rescue teams in identifying slight temperature variations between objects, people, and animals.

At higher zoom levels, the UHR (Ultra-High Resolution) Infrared Image function automatically activates, ensuring clear infrared images. With Link Zoom, users can compare visual light and thermal images side-by-side for quicker subject location, and control the zoom on both cameras simultaneously, maintaining aligned fields of view for swift detection.

For rescue missions, the H30 series supports pre-recording on the app for up to 30 seconds, helping first responders capture crucial evidence and scenes leading up to the recording.

The DJI Zenmuse H30 series, available from authorized DJI Enterprise dealers, boasts an IP54 dust and water resistance rating and can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -20° to 50° C (-4° to 122° F).

Christina Zhang, senior director of corporate strategy at DJI, states, “The unparalleled visuals from this trustworthy payload will no doubt enhance the effectiveness of drone pilots aiding search and rescue operations, firefighting efforts, utility inspections, and conservation efforts. As DJI’s most integrated and powerful enterprise flagship payloads, they are designed to serve multiple critical industries.”
